Adesera (Adefovir Dipivoxil 10mg Tablets) is an antiviral medicine. It is used to treat long-term hepatitis B virus infection of the liver. Adesera (Adefovir Dipivoxil 10mg Tablets) decreases the amount of virus in your body and therefore reduces further liver damage. However, it may not prevent hepatitis B complications such as liver cancer or end stage liver damage. It also does not prevent the spread of hepatitis B to other people.
Adesera (Adefovir Dipivoxil 10mg Tablets) is an antiviral medication. It works by preventing viral cells from multiplying in the body and infecting new liver cells. Adesera (Adefovir Dipivoxil 10mg Tablets) is used to treat chronic hepatitis B in adults. This medicine will not cure hepatitis. Adesera (Adefovir Dipivoxil 10mg Tablets) may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide. This medication is used to treat a chronic viral infection of the liver ( hepatitis B ) in people 12 years of age and older. It works by slowing the growth of the virus. It is not a cure for hepatitis B and does not prevent the passing of hepatitis B to others.

Adesera (Adefovir Dipivoxil 10mg Tablets) is used for treating symptoms of chronic inflammation of the liver (hepatitis) caused by hepatitis B virus (chronic hepatitis B).

What is Lamivir HBV (Lamivudine 100mg Tablet)?
Lamivir HBV (Lamivudine 100mg Tablet) is an antiviral drug that prevents the human immunodeficiency virus or HIV and Hepatitis B virus from multiplying in your body. This medication is prescribed for the prevention of HIV which causes the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome or AIDS. Lamivir HBV (Lamivudine 100mg Tablet) is sold under various trade names, like Lamivir (made by Cipla).This medicine may also be prescribed for treatments not mentioned here.
Lamivir HBV (Lamivudine 100mg Tablet) Uses
Lamivir-hbv is an antiviral medicine. It is used to treat long-term hepatitis b virus infection of the liver. Lamivir-hbv is also used together with other medicines to treat aids (hiv). Lamivir-hbv reduces the amount of virus in your body and may help to slow down the disease progression of hepatitis b or aids. Lamivir-hbv does not cure hepatitis b or aids. It does not prevent the spread of disease to other people. Lamivir-hbv is also called 3tc.
Lamivir-hbv (2',3'-dideoxy-3'-thiacytidine, commonly called 3tc) is a potent nucleoside analog reverse transcriptase inhibitor (nrti). It is marketed by glaxosmithkline with the brand names zeffix, heptovir, epivir, and epivir-hbv. Lamivir-hbv has been used for treatment of chronic hepatitis b at a lower dose than for treatment of hiv. It improves the seroconversion of e-antigen positive hepatitis b and also improves histology staging of the liver. Long term use of lamivir-hbv unfortunately leads to emergence of a resistant hepatitis b virus (ymdd) mutant. Despite this, lamivir-hbv is still used widely as it is well tolerated.
Lamivir HBV (Lamivudine 100mg Tablet) Working of the drug:
Lamivir HBV (Lamivudine 100mg Tablet) inhibits reverse transcriptase of HIV and prevents the proper transcription of the viral DNA. It inhibits the HIV reverse transcriptase enzyme competitively and act as a chain terminator of DNA synthesis. The chain elongation process is inhibited and finally the viral DNA growth is inhibited

Do not take this drug if you:
- Are allergic to this drug or any of the other ingredients of this medicine
- Are pregnant, take all the medicine for HIV prescribed by the doctor, to prevent the spread of HIV to the unborn baby.
- Are breastfeeding or planning to breast feed
- Have narcolepsy
- An enlarged prostate
- Are under 18 years of age
Tell your doctor if you:
- Have blood pressure kidney problems
- Have serious liver problem
- Have serious heart complaint

How much to take the drug?
Lamivir HBV (Lamivudine 100mg Tablet) dosage may depend on a range of factors like age, sex, drug allergies, or seriousness of the condition among several other factors. Your dosage will be determined by your doctor after examining you properly. Remember to follow your doctor’s advice properly for best results. Always take the drug dose as prescribed by the doctor only. Never change the dosage, start, or stop using the drug without doctor’s permission. Always complete the dose.
How to take the drug?
Take Lamivir HBV (Lamivudine 100mg Tablet) HIV/AIDS medication (Lamivir) strictly according to your doctor’s direction or according to the instructions on the medication label. Do not alter the dosage unless your doctor advises you to do so. Also, do not take this medication after the prescribed period is over. All medications come with a patient leaflet. Refer the instructions in them for detailed information on that particular medication.
You may take Lamivir HBV (Lamivudine 100mg Tablet) with or without food. HIV/AIDS is treated with a combination of drugs. Always take the prescribed drugs as directed by your doctor. Store this medication in a cool and dry place.
For how long to take it?
Lamivir HBV (Lamivudine 100mg Tablet) controls the multiplication of HIV but does not cure the problem. Take the drugs as long as your doctor recommends you to take it.
Overdose:
In case of an overdose of Lamivir HBV (Lamivudine 100mg Tablet), get emergency medical attention or call the Doctor immediately.
Miss dose:
If you miss a dose of Lamivir HBV (Lamivudine 100mg Tablet), take it as soon as you remember. Don’t take the missed dose if the time to take the next dose is almost up. Taking multiple doses near to each other can lead to excess medication in your body which can be harmful.

- Some common side effects of Lamivir HBV (Lamivudine 100mg Tablet) are nausea, headache, vomiting, dizziness, drowsiness, or diarrhea. If any of these effects persist or deteriorate, seek medical attention right away.
- Some people may experience a deteriorating of a previous medical condition as their immune system recovers, or develop new conditions due to overactive immune system. Let your doctor known right away if you develop any new condition or any of you existing conditions worsen.
- Lactic acidosis has been observed in some people who took Lamivir HBV (Lamivudine 100mg Tablet). Initial symptoms of lactic acidosis may deteriorate over time and can prove fatal. Hence you must get medical attention right away on first signs of lactic acidosis such as muscle pain or weakness, numb or cold feeling in the limbs, breathing trouble, stomach pain, or nausea with vomiting.
- Lamivir HBV (Lamivudine 100mg Tablet) can also cause severe or life threatening damage to your liver or pancreas. Seek medical attention right away if you have any of the following symptoms of liver or pancreas damage: sever pain in upper stomach which advances to the back, nausea and vomiting, fast heartbeats, itching, loss of appetite, dark urine, clay colored stools, or jaundice.
- The side effects mentioned above are not the only ones that you may experience or witness due to Lamivir HBV (Lamivudine 100mg Tablet). If you get any serious side effects due to this medication, contact your doctor right away.

Warnings and Precautions when using Lamivir HBV (Lamivudine 100mg Tablet)
Lamivir HBV (Lamivudine 100mg Tablet) can cause life-threatening inflammation of the pancreas (pancreatitis). This can be very dangerous. Let your healthcare provider know immediately if you have any signs of pancreatitis, such as:
- A tender or swollen abdomen
- Nausea and vomiting
- Fever
- A rapid heart rate (tachycardia)
- Rapid breathing.
Lamivir HBV (Lamivudine 100mg Tablet) can rarely cause a condition called lactic acidosis and hepatic steatosis. It is caused by damage to the liver and can be very dangerous. You are at higher risk for this side effect if you already have liver disease.
The kidneys help remove Lamivir HBV (Lamivudine 100mg Tablet) from the body. If you have kidney disease, your healthcare provider may need to monitor you more closely and may recommend a lower Lamivir HBV (Lamivudine 100mg Tablet) dosage.
Lamivir HBV (Lamivudine 100mg Tablet) can change the distribution of fat on your body. You may gain fat in areas that are not typical for you, such as in the abdomen or at the back of the neck (a "buffalo hump"), and may lose weight in other areas.
Sometimes, stopping Lamivir HBV (Lamivudine 100mg Tablet) can cause a worsening of a hepatitis B infection. If you stop taking Lamivir HBV (Lamivudine 100mg Tablet), you should be monitored very closely to make sure you do not develop any problems.
Lamivir HBV (Lamivudine 100mg Tablet) is not a cure for HIV or AIDS. If you have HIV or AIDS, you should always use safer sex practices, regardless of whether you are taking medications.
