Nolvadex (Tamoxifen Citrate 20mg Tablets) is used to either treat breast cancer or reduce the risk of breast cancer occurring if you are at increased risk of breast cancer. If you and your healthcare professional are considering using Nolvadex (Tamoxifen Citrate 20mg Tablets) for reducing the risk of breast cancer occurring, your knowledge of treatment risks becomes more important because you don't currently have breast cancer. Nolvadex (Tamoxifen Citrate 20mg Tablets) therapy may be uncommonly associated with serious side effects such as deep vein thrombosis (dvt - blood clots in veins of your leg), pulmonary embolus (blood clots in your lungs) and uterine cancer. In some women, these events were fatal. Less serious side effects such as hot flushes, vaginal discharge, menstrual irregularities and gynaecological conditions may also occur. Whether the benefits of treatment outweigh the risks depends on your age, health history, your level of breast cancer risk and on your personal judgement. Nolvadex (Tamoxifen Citrate 20mg Tablets) therapy to reduce the risk of breast cancer may not be appropriate for all women at increased risk for breast cancer. Use Nolvadex Nolvadex (Tamoxifen Citrate 20mg Tablets) as directed by your doctor. Check the label on the medicine for exact dosing instructions.

• Nolvadex (Tamoxifen Citrate 20mg Tablets) comes with an extra patient information sheet called a Medication Guide. Read it carefully. Read it again each time you get Nolvadex (Tamoxifen Citrate 20mg Tablets) refilled.
• Nolvadex (Tamoxifen Citrate 20mg Tablets) may be taken by mouth with or without food.
• Take Nolvadex (Tamoxifen Citrate 20mg Tablets) with water or another nonalcoholic liquid.
• Swallow this medication whole. Do not break, crush, or chew before swallowing.
• Continue to take Nolvadex (Tamoxifen Citrate 20mg Tablets) even if you feel well. Do not miss any doses. Taking Nolvadex at the same time each day will help you to remember to take it.
• If you miss a dose of Nolvadex (Tamoxifen Citrate 20mg Tablets), take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.
